HTC was proud to host the Shriners "Shoot for Kids" on Saturday, April 28th. At the end of the day, HTC President Mary Gehl was pleased to present Chuck Basacker of the Bitterroot Shriners Chapter a check for $6,792 from the days shooting events and special raffle. This year`s shoot raised almost double from 2006! Shooters from all over Montana enjoyed a day in the spring sunshine as they competed for trophies and great prizes generously donated by businesses in Ravalli and Missoula Counties. The 100 bird event was shot by 67 shooters and included the shotgun games of 5 Stand, 16yd Trap singles, Wobble and Doubles.
During a break shooters & guests enjoyed a great meal prepared by the Shriners. Our second event, an Annie Oakley was new this year & had 54 shooters competing for a half-day pheasant hunt which was generously donated by Fetch-Inn.
The event marked the eleventh year the local Shriners Chapter has held this fundraising event with all the proceeds from the shoot to be used for the cost of transportation to The Shriners Hospitals for Children for patients and their families from our local communities.
Hamilton Trap Club thanks the Shriners for allowing our club to be a part of this worthwhile cause.
Fetch-Inn Annie Oakley Champ
Dustin Weidenkeller was the last shooter standing, out of 54 shooters, to take home the prize of a half-day six bird pheasant hunt which was generously donated by Fetch-Inn of Hamilton. 54 shooters started the event and fifty of those shooters bought back into the game after being shot out, hoping for a second chance.
The final two, Dustin and Tom Stephenson, finally finished with Dustin smoking the last target!
