And to prove that point, on June 28, 2002 at 9:08 am, five crazy club members set out to beat the world record for shooting ATA registered doubles targets in a 24 hour period.
The previous record, held by Darien Sporting Goods in Darien, Wisconsin, was 30,000 targets. The HTC team, dubbed "The Dream Team", broke the world record at 5:28 am on June 29th and continued shooting for the full 24 hours finishing with a new world record of 34,750 targets for the team.
Now you`re probably wondering why anyone would want to subject themselves to such abuse...well in the spirit of HTC, the event was also a fundraiser for Camp Mak-A-Dream, located in Gold Creek, Montana, which provides a cost free camping experience to kids with cancer. The "Dream Team" along with club members and guests raised over $15,000 for the camp and set a world record that hasn`t been challenged!
